1. They were born in India (India had no role to play)
2. They did their undergrad studies in India - only to realize later that it would be impossible to thrive in the political and industrial oligarchy of 1990s India.
3. They all went to the United States for their Masters and decided to stay in the US. All of them have given up their Indian Passports.
We should stop basking in the glory of Americans who were born in India (by chance), and should rather design an ecosystem that appreciates and retains talent here in India.
As can be gauged clearly, many of the well-meaning folks have misinterpreted the meaning of my post.
